David Kinnear, Partner & Managing Director (New York Office)
David Kinnear is a Partner & Sr. Adviser on strategy, sourcing & services delivery with BK Advisory Group – through which he engages with both start-up and established client companies. He is an advocate & catalyst for change & the adoption of technology – arguing that both can invariably be used as a means to improve delivery. David is the Founder and Chairman of The Global Sourcing Council. He is a co-founder of GSSOCX, a global portal for professionals in shared services, outsourcing & consulting. An attorney, David is a member of the Bar of England and Wales.
David has a keen eye and a great passion for working with early-stage companies with disruptive technology or service propositions – such as in the sourcing, outsourcing & social media sectors – helping with consulting or interim leadership, sales strategy, differentiation techniques and marketplace communications.
An attorney by trade (a qualified UK Barrister), David has worked for leading law firms Masons and Linklaters in London, specializing in major construction & engineering contract management & litigation. In 1995, he relocated Credit Suisse’s Banking & Support Operations into its new global headquarters, and then managed significant global outsourcing, shared sourcing and process efficiency initiatives during his subsequent tenure. Afterward, he moved to the provider side, working extensively with the UK, US, Philippines and China during his time with the Black Mountain Group and subsequently.
David has a LLB from Manchester University and is a member of the Bar of England and Wales. He lives with his wife and daughter in New York.
Richard Buchanan, Partner & Managing Director (London Office)
Drawing on his early years of experience in ICT working with such companies as UBS, Credit Suisse and Citigroup, Richard provides program design and management experience to both private and public sector clients in the UK & Europe. He has extensive international work exposure, managing & co-ordinating outsourcing contracts spanning France, UK, Norway, Sweden, North America and India.
Richard has designed and developed strategic partnerships with major corporates including NASDAQ quoted companies to the value circa $70 million. He initiated and developed partnerships between an early stage Scandinavia-Indian software company and US corporates to generate outsourcing deals valued circa $5 million. He has also undertaken international freelance consultancy, spanning UK, Sweden and India. Some recent highlights include:
- Managing a high-visibility client project working to deliver low carbon commercial buildings in the UK
- Key responsibility in delivering capital project refurbishment works to key Public sector buildings in London – value circa $15 million/year
A keen sailor and skier, Richard holds a BSc (Hons) Surveying and lives in Hertfordshire with his wife.
